A mid 19th century German knitting veteran nodder, papier-mâché man with large brown handle-bar moustache, goatee beard, blue cloth cap with red trim and tassel, dark blue uniform, walking along knitting with rucksack on back with black and white dog balancing on top, a white apron with bulging pockets, boots and carved and painted wooden base —8in. (20.5cm.) high (slight wear and crazing)
