A rare Ashstead Pottery Pooh tea set from the Olive Brockwell (Christopher Robin’s nanny) collection, comprising teapot no.6 —7 ½in. (19cm.) long, jug no.12, two cup no.3s, two saucers no.5s, sugar bowl no.23, slope bowl no.8 and two side plates no.16, printed with Ernest Shepard illustrations (one cup with small chip to rim, saucers one with tiny nibble to rim, other with hairline crack, sugar bowl with hairline crack inside and slope bowl with firing crack) - purchased from Christie’s South Kensington, 9th June 1995, lot 277 - see Some of our Favourite Bears by Ian Pout, page 25
