An early to mid 19th century Oberammergau wooden figure of a woman with suitor hidden in her skirt, with sprung head with black painted and carved centre—parted hair sweeping down over ears and held in a plaited bun at the back of head, the carved and painted clothings, one hand held straight down, the other held in front holding an artificial flower, the torso is removed from the skirt and lower half opens to reveal a tryptic secret garden with gentleman suitor seated amongst the foliage and a drinking fountain, inked 2s to each section of base —6 ¼in. (16cm.) high
