A mid to late 19th century Thüringen frog eating fly crank handled ‘eater’, papier-mâché green and white painted frog with black stripes down back, gold and silver highlights, pink open mouth, seated on paper covered wooden box with drawer, when handle is cranked a silver fly with cloth wings flies into the frogs mouth —5in. (12.5cm.) long (one corner of base, very neatly repaired) — see Early Toys 2, Leipold/Bickert/Kreher, 2024 - page 98, fig 2 for this actual toy
