An 1830s Sonneberg papier-mâché and wood hand-cranked mechanical toy of a shepherdess, the seated young woman in moulded summer dress with flowers in brown hair, tendrils painted onto the side of her face, a longer curled ringlet down one side, a lamb climbing into her lap, resting against a tree stump with one branch protruding above her head, wood shaving leaves and a crook, seated on an orange painted wooden box with green slightly textured grass top, when the wire handle is cranked the woman moves her arm pointing at the lamb —7in. (18cm.) long (slight wear) - see Early Toys 2, Leipold/Bickert/Kreher, 2024 - page 79, fig 4 and 5 for this actual model - shown in the sample book of the wholesaler Simon Lindner, Sonneberg, 1831 held at the Deutsches Spielzeugmuseum Sonneberg
