An 1870s Thüringen women with outsized head and hat nodder, possibly a Suffragette connection, papier-mâché with blue side glancing eyes, blonde painted and moulded curly hair, a large black hat decorated with butterfly and bird of paradise, a yellow and black two piece dress with bustle and large bow, bending forward with hands in pockets and painted wooden base with printed wholesaler’s label on underside and ink number 0178 —10in. (25.5cm.) high (some crazing to hat and slight wear) - possibly a statement about Women’s Suffrage, as they are often depicted with oversized hat or on the ridiculous fashions of the time
