A late 19th century novelty gentleman popping up from a pink silk corset, the composition head with centre-parted hair and moustache, possibly Harry Cust, appears from a pink silk covered ladies corset with velvet trim and gilt buttons, when a trigger is pressed the brown silk top pops off and the man pops up —3 ½in. (9cm.) high - Henry John Cockayne-Cust, JP, DL (1861 – 1917) was an English politician and editor who served as a Member of Parliament for the Unionist Party. Outrageously handsome, witty and clever, Cust was reputed to be one of the great womanisers of the late Victorian era. By his affair with the married Violet Granby, later the Duchess of Rutland, he was the biological father of Lady Diana Manners and possibly others. Later he was rumoured to be the real grandfather of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
